Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds
What is Come and See?
Come and See is a Catholic Primary Religious Education programme for Foundation and Key Stages 1 and 2. At St, Joseph’s, we use it as a scheme through which we teach our curriculum R.E. The scheme has been written by a group of experienced diocesan advisors and is based on the theological foundations of the Second Vatican Council, the Catholic Catechism and the revised RE Curriculum Directory. It is continually updated to reflect changes, such as the new Age-Related Standard – the means by which we assess R.E.
Links are made with the children’s own experiences and the curriculum is adapted to make it purposeful for our children, always meeting them where they are in their spiritual experience. Father Tom, our Parish Priest, supports the delivery of the Come and See scheme throughout the year either by us visiting the church or by him coming into school to talk to the children.
