Safeguarding is a top priority at St. Joseph's Catholic Primary School. All school staff have Level 1 training annually and we have a team of staff who are trained to Level 3.
Mr Newton is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL.) He is always available to speak to anyone who is concerned about a child. (01900 829859)
Charles Proctor is the Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding. He can be contacted via email on GovernorCP@st-josephs.cumbria.sch.uk
If you think a child is at immediate risk of harm, you must call the Police urgently on 999.
You can ring the Safeguarding Hub on 0333 240 1727 to seek advice or speak to a Social Worker to report a concern.
School can support families experiencing difficulties through a system called Early Help, where professionals support children and their families through regular meetings. Speak to Mr Newton or Mrs Worthington if you feel your family could be supported in this way.
There is a range of information about Safeguarding below, but if you have any other questions, please ask a member of staff.
